I’m using Bambu Studio 1.7.3.50 with the “0.20mm Standard @BBL X1C” preset. I was about to print a simple model, essentially just a cube with some circular holes cut into it. I’m noticing that some of the infill is showing up at random spots on the wall of the holes:
Thanks, that seems to have fixed it! I’m confused why this was causing a problem though, the explanation for vertical shell thickness references top and bottom layers, but these models were perfectly symmetric so I don’t see why the random infill would show up in some places but not others.
I didn’t elaborate on the answer as I am unsure of why.
A guess, based on looking at many previews for different parameters:
In case of inadequate print infill overlap on the shells, the slicer compensates with this odd infill to ensure vertical thickness.
I don’t think it is worth overthinking it too much as this must be part of superslicer or prusaslicer… Yet I came from regular use of Cura, so certain things are still new.
BTW, I could eliminate the infill without unselecting the “ensure vertical shell thickness”; you need to play around with the number of walls, infill pattern and density, layer height, line thickness, etc… I was looking for a universal solution to eliminate the extra infill, yet is dependent on multiple variables. Besides additional material and time(?) I am unsure how this influences the print quality.
When I find time, I will try to do some tests to see if the differences are noticeable.
I am using Bambu Studio 1.7.4.52 and the “Ensure Vertical Shell Thickness” is fowling up the petals on a vase print of a flower. I use to be able to turn this setting off and eliminate the problem
but now Vase mode forces it on.
I am not sure if the issue is the same. But if your problem is with the vase mode, a quick fix is just doing it manually, i.e. 1 wall, not top surfaces, etc…
