Why do NON PRINTABLE objects disappear after plate is sliced?

I’ve had several objects disappear after working on them and the plate is sliced. Wasted an hour working on painting an object and then set it to NOT PRINTABLE and it disappeared when the plate was sliced. Is there a way to keep this from happening? Don’t understand why just setting it to NOT PRINTABLE should make it disappear. All I want it to do is NOT PRINT it at this time.

Can’t say I’ve had a “non printable” part disappear. I use that on occasion but most often I simply move the part off the build plate if I don’t want it to print.

Because you only need to preview the part that is being sent to the printer. its still on the plate in the prepare tab. It is displaying what the print will “see”.

Unfortunately, in this case, it’s not there any longer. It wasn’t moved off the plate and floating around the project plates. When I go to the Process->Objects tab, the object isn’t shown anywhere. So, not sure where it goes. This isn’t a one-off, I’ve had this happen several different times. It’s usually not a big issue, I can just reload the object. But in this case, I was working on painting the object components and wasted over an hour getting it right and then it disappeared.

Sorry, I found it. It did move it off the plates after the slice and actually combined it together with a few other objects. But at least it’s still in the project.

Any reason for not using another plate where you place objects not to be printed on the main plate?
