I agree with you, my A1 printer is terrible since the beginning, in november.
I have had a lot of issues out of the box and bambulab support haven’t solved them. My frame aren’t perpendicular, my bed not perfectly flat, dimensional accuracy is so bad, and there are artefacts on external walls…
I’m fighting to solve them because i’m in 3d printing for a while but so tired.
I have printed tons of calibration objects but never perfects. Even my old Anet A6 is more accurate !
How so? They make lots of money on filament etc. Sure some will buy off of Amazon, etc., but many will buy from them. I buy from both depending on my needs, but I’ve already spent way more on “consumables” than the printer cost me. Not much different than selling ink jet printers for $59 and then having to buy OEM cartridges (that will work well) at a premium price.
So far I love mine. It does everything I could have ask of it.
Nobody talks about mediocre printers here as there are luckely no reprapper type products made by Bambulabs.
There simply is not one other factory that makes high quality and clever designed 3d-printers that perform excellently at produce constant highest quality possible.
Maybe your got damaged by rough handling by courier or you did not follow the simple instructions to set yours up.
I just got my A1 on the 2 days ago after waiting about a year to purchase. The printer ran 4 for prints and is now throwing a Heatbed temperature malfunction [0300-8009-064620] error. I created a support ticket about 12 hours ago and have had no response.
I can’t create a new topic in the General or support section of this community because of the “Trust System” which is BS, you really expect new users to wait for a magical trust threshold to be crossed before they can ask the community for help while they are being ignored by support.
The printer was great while it ran, but for me the support is some of the worst I have ever experienced.
i think that what happened is that it moved side to side to make that printer poop thing but you didn’t specify can you specify please
@ [JansenHessels]
you are obviously a fanboy.
i have been a creality user for years. i too fell for the bambu hype and purchased both an a1 and an a1 mini for christmas.
both of them are garbage. i cannot get a successful multi hour print out of either. the nozzle drags the infill during travel on both, causing broken tree supports or layer shifts. i have been fighting this for 2 months and have done everything suggested in the wiki and forums to try to fix this. my last failure was 16 hours into a 38 hour print when the main center support structure was ripped out by the nozzle dragging across it. so please dont say these printers are the best made.
my k1 and k1 max are pretty much flawless when printing. i left creality because they could not get me parts for my max, but i wound up fixing it with a hotend upgrade to the new unicorn hotend. i think i will be selling my bambu printers and getting a k2 plus.

I had no issue with the A1 personally even though I did forget a few screws but most of your discribed issues can be solved by using Orca (and yes it does work after the “security” updates) or modifing some G-Code.
Your making it sound like Bambu Lab is perfect which isn’t possible as a company. Damage from the courier isn’t the only problem. And saying Bambu Lab makes the only ones that make “high quality and clever designed 3d-printers that perform excellently at produce constant highest quality possible” isn’t true but this is subjective.
you have my attention
i am about to give away my a1, i cannot figure this out and my k1’s just work with no bs.
what g-code mod? any place with documentation or instruction?
what does orca do that studio doesnt, is there a profile for the a1 and a1m?
thank you
Dave
Hey, hows it going? You look good. You been working out?
lol @Dr_Operator
i found a pretty in depth thread about my issue. seems a few others are having it. it appears to be a bug in bbs and orca that was reported in jan 2024, i am now testing the suggested settings to stop the dragging.
Dave
Yes there are many many profiles for the A1 and mini. Orca Slicer is based on Bambu Slicer which is based on Prusa Slicer which is based on Slic3r ,Orca adds many features that in my opinion are for the “Pro” users while still being beginer friendly like Bambu Slicer (Bambu Studio). I don’t know whats wrong with your printer as “i cannot figure this out” is very vague. Does your printer print and what slicer do you use.
I had no problems with the dragging on the infill. I understand that it sounds really bad.
Well atleast I think they fixed it with Orca.
I suggest maybe trying some setting changes like adding a raft or increasing the bed temp.
If you use the @ symbol before each persons name, you can reply to everybody in a single post and they will all get a notice.
Welcome to the forum
But 3 of those are replying to the same person and the 4th one he is replying to himself lol.
I hear you—first impressions matter, and it sounds like your A1 Mini didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet. The setup confusion with the QR code and buried quick-start guide is definitely frustrating. Bambu printers are fast, but those random side moves you’re seeing mid-print shouldn’t be happening, especially not unpredictably. It could be a firmware issue or something odd with the slicer settings.
I understand that every single individual’s experience is going to be slightly different, and it sounds like you’ve gotten a dodgy unit, but fact of the matter is that
- there are a lot of A1 and A1 Mini out there
- An overwhelming number of these exceptional, they do what they’re meant to and do it well, but
- A higher raw number of units means a higher number of failures(raw number, not percentage)
- This means that you’re gonna see more units fail than other brands due to sheer quantities, but also you’ll see hundreds of thousands of ones doing the exceptional job they’re meant to do
We are on 8x A1 Minis now, 2x A1, a P1P and a P1S. All are flawless so far, that’s just my experience though. Many people have been unlucky and gotten faulty ones
