Why does my print look like this?

why does my print quality look this bad? i’m using some pretty cheap filament here its this brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TW893MZ?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k0_1_7&amp=&crid=T1BCZEYHMFDC&amp=&sprefix=duramic
is the filament the issue?

it only looks this bad when held up to the light… Do i need to slow down my print speeds for this filament? Am i not printing hot enough? Is it a problem with my printer?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks!

Most signs point to the filament. Have you had issues with other brands? Also have you calibrated this filament? Slowing down a print can help. It’s trial and error until you find what works for you.

Ok! I haven’t tried calibrating this filament yet… i printed a cylinder of similar diameter in Bambu PLA basic about 80 mm high and it did not show any of those weird artifacts. So I think most likely its my filament. I’ll do the same cylinder again in the problem filament and then try doing a flow calibration/pressure advance.

thanks for your help!

hmm… i just printed the same cylinder (although i didn’t let it complete. what can i say I’m impatient ) and print quality seems pretty good for both of them though the white is just a tiny bit worse. Do i need a part with more complex geometry to compare these filaments?

Well being at my X1C at 1950 had prints that look like that because of excessive wear on a part and bamboo lab said that there’s nothing wrong it’s within spec in that print has nothing wrong with it. That is exceptional quality for a bambu lab printer. And I’m using the standards that have been set forth by their customer service. Mine was about 10 times worse and they said it was normal quality.

It takes like 25-30 minutes ti calibrate new filament, I always do it just to be safe until I find a consistent type/brand! Good luck!

Yep. I’m just going to stick to bambu filament from now on.
thanks for the help!

the weird thing is is that this is a really new machine… less then 200 print hours

Yeah it only gets worse lol. But they will say it’s normal and the best print quality.

I use DURAMIC 3D and get great prints. My P1P has 1924 hours
Speeds?
I use 80 mm/s inner 60 mm/s outer.
