I haven’t found anything about this topic. It nags me but maybe there is a setting that I have not found.
I use a Mac. Every time I open an stl-file in Studio the plate with the item is somewhere off to the right. I have to right-press my mouse and drag it into the middle.
- The question is where is the position of the objects in the stl-file. Generated from 3d-design-tools it is quite likely to be not at the center. Many designers will draw there objects with positive X, Y and Z values.
- You can use “auto positon” to place the object. This is allways a good idea, because otherwise it might be also starting in air and not at the build plate. (Or below.)
- There is a note from Bambulab in firmeware release notes that they changed the position for auto-placing for the newer printers, because the center is not the optimal position for some printers. Minimizing the overall distance the nozle has to travel could result in a non centric position.
Please note: this is just my opinion. I am not an expert.
He was not asking about the item being off center. The whole build plate is off the right side of the screen when you are in Bambu Studio. Make it hard to do anything with the project.
CTRL + 0 will bring the built plate to the center of the screen.
Here is the wiki page for all of the keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks! I will try that!
Thanks. Command+0 (I have a Mac) does the trick.
The question however remains why it needs a shortcut to center it in the first place.
If you save the file after you update the view it might reset the opening view orientation? It’s a long shot. Also, what version of Bambu Studio are you using?
Tried, didn´t work.
1.8.4.51
Have you tried rolling back to a previous version?
It has been like that for the last 3 months, since I bought my P1S, through all updates.
I am surprised that I seem to be the only one that is bothered by it. The fact that the Command+0 exists in my opinion shows that it known by the developers.
Command+0 (or Ctrl-0) is just one of many keyboard shortcuts to change views - see your Help menu.
It was not created as a workaround.
I wouldn’t make that assumption. The keyboard short cuts are common place in 3d viewers.
This issue seems to be a single case scenario as it hasn’t been posted about it before. I don’t have a Mac and thus can’t test it but I can tell you that on the PC it doesn’t do this.
I use a MacBook Pro and I never have this issue.
I recently noticed a barely related problem (but worse) with latest BS vs. latest Orca. If I save in one and load in the other, all parts are offset on every build plate with some amount. This is (I think) a new problem. You really notice when you have stuffed plates - objects are placed off the edge…
I’ve had an A1 for a week and the same thing happened to me in Bambu Studio. I solved it by reading here that it was fixed with Control+0
thank you it has been driving me nuts! Now they need to add "fix/RepairModel with Mac version instead of windows!
Thank you! This was also driving me nuts!
thanks it worked great! now i can actually zoom up on things
