Why is the poop chute cart always hanging?

I very rarely do multi-color prints. Mostly, I prints multiple monochromatic parts on the same plate so filament changes are just a handful.

However with multi-color prints I noticed that the poop chute cart always hangs on one side. Even if I try to slot it onto the little pin when the toolhead is NOT in the poop chute position, it may lock in place but once there is a filament change, it just drops and it still always hangs on one side. As a result, filament poop always builds a massive spaghetti tower instead of being reduce to little beads and getting flung aside.

Is this a mechanical issue? How do I repair it?

There should be 2 screws attaching it and the wiper to the part with the switch that actuates it, is yours not screwed in?

Also a plastic bit it should lock into:

Try tightening the screw after you lock in onto the plastic notch

Definitely not attached properly. It; not supposed to flop around like that.

Thanks, I did not notice the screw. I tightened it and now it seems to hold. Even a bit too well, as many bits of poop get trapped in the poop chute. Maybe I should tighten it a bit less :stuck_out_tongue:

There is always the option of just letting it free fall… I’m Freeee, Free fallin’ :notes:

Something still does not sound right. Nothing should be getting trapped.
