Why isn’t there a P1S subcategory in the P-series category?
I mean, really!!
There was one, with multiple subtopics, but since they’ve launched P2, those P1-related topics seem to have been removed and (probably) sent to archives.
If they did that they need to put P1S Back in the forum!!!
Don’t look now, but there also is no H2D Pro subcategory in the H2 area… ![]()
Next you’re gonna tell me the X1E doesn’t have a dedicated sub?!!!
Its a P series, there is no subcategory, it is the category. P2 is the subcategory.
Let me rephrase, why isn’t there a P1 subcategory?
Because before the recent P2S release there was only a general P series category. It covered both the P1P and P1S. Adding a new category for a new printer is easy as there are no posts about it. Adding a category for a printer that has been around for years means that someone would have to go back through all of the posts over the years and sort/move each post. It’s really not worth the time to do.
A P1S subcategory would probably be a better fit in the X1 category anyway.

P1 in X1? Are you serious?!? That’s 2 different printers, besides the fact that the X1 has been discontinued already, and you want to mix them together?
I disagree. a P1S subcategory should be in the P series, just like the P2S subcategory is. Maybe someone at Bambu will read this thread and fix this!
Yeah, I was stirring things up, but they are not that different.
… using the same print process profiles and nearly identical filament profiles.
Most, if not all, of the X1 filament profiles end with a section like this:
"compatible_printers": [
"Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 0.4 nozzle",
"Bambu Lab X1 0.4 nozzle",
"Bambu Lab P1S 0.4 nozzle",
"Bambu Lab X1E 0.4 nozzle"
]
The P1/X1 nozzles differ only in their electrical connections.
If I download a .3mf specifying a P1S, it will print just fine without changing the printer to match my X1C.
It’s still 2 different printers, even if a number of things are more or less similar (if not identical), there are several factors that clearly differentiate between the P1 and the X1.
The literal forum leader already weighted in. Let’s move on.
So who is the forum leader and would they please provide a rational for why there is not a p1S subcategory?
So why not create it and use it on a “go forward basis”? There are LOTS of P1S users out there.
