Why no derivative at all?

Hey, I saw this :

“Please make sure the source model’s license does NOT contain “NoDerivatives” attribute. For example CC-BY-ND, CC-BY-NC-ND, Standard Digital File License are not allowed.”

And I would like to know why?
Why can’t I post CC-BY-NC-ND / CC-BY-ND if I post STLs and only STLs under the same format as the original ?

Also, I’d like to quote this from creative commons :

remix, transform, or build upon — Merely changing the format never creates a derivative.

So, yep, what’s up please ?

I assume you are posting a remix? Then look at the original License.

I got this, as I wanted to post a remix from an item with “No Remix” in the license. So I skipped it.

Nah I’m trying to post a share, which is btw surprisingly greyed out :

the license of the original allows me to post as share btw

From what I can tell, creating shares is no longer enabled. The only options for uploading are Original and Remix, and both are not allowed by CC ND. If you edit an existing model the Share radio button is there, but greyed out. Perhaps your screenshot is from a share you uploaded earlier?

Ah…
Yeah these are drafts of models imported from printables.
They are set as “share” like they’re supposed to, but I tried to post one and couldn’t because share is indeed disabled.

I guess that answers my question then, thank you !
