I’m a 3d printing new comer, and what I can tell - swapping out hotends on the A1 is considerably easier than on other printers. However, I dont quite understand why Bambulabs have made the front panel one you have to click on and off every time you swap, rather than a magnetically attached one like I believe has been used on other printers
Can anybody think of a good reason why they might have chosen this route?
I think I’ve heard of at least one incident where a magnetically attached front “fell off” for no good reason but it doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue for sure, and there might have been more to that one story as well.
Some of the X1/P1 printers have had magnetic covers fall off, ruining prints and damaging nozzles. Omitting the magnets may also have saved a gram or two of weight, which is good for print head acceleration.
