Yes! This is all I am asking for is to know what the heck was removed. Odds are we can easily find it somewhere else if we want to
Seems like the only way around this at the moment is to not use MakerWorld’s “save” feature at all. It’s way more tedious, but after encountering this for the first time, I would much rather actually HAVE my models in folders on my PC rather than MAYBE have them if Bambu is feeling generous today. If a model was removed for copyright - totally fine - just take their model down and point me to the actual designer. In this scenario, the creator doesn’t get any credit AND the consumers can’t even find their models anymore. Everyone loses! Woohoo!
You can determine the design/model id(s) that was removed by looking at the page source of the collection in question under ‘hiddenIds’. (e.g. “hiddenIds”: [
1234567
],
Then if the model has been up long enough and was removed recently, you can often find what it was by googling the URL for it
I’m super new to bambu/makerworld and a model in the ‘toy’ collection I had created to print for my son was showing that 1 was hidden. I was pretty irked by this so I was able to determine it was a Dinosuar model. It’s kind of a bummer they do it this way and is definitely a detractor from continuing to use the service.
For anyone who might be interested, I’ve added a tampermonkey script that will show you the id’s of the models that have been removed from a collection and hyperlink you to a google search of the ID to try and help identify what it was.
Thanks for this tip!
Searching for “hiddenIDs” in the source page works
i hate it too lol
making adding to collections useless imo , they need to raise the daily download limit because since i was fed up with missing models i liked or added to collection for future use i download everything i normally would save in collections
it’s not everyday that i reach the daily limit but it happens more then 10 times a month tho…
Someone has never dealt with busy situations and object permanence issues. Sometimes I’m just going through finding a bunch of things that are worthwhile for later projects cuz I stumble across them all looking for something else.
It would be nice to have some idea what it was so if it was something that was relevant I can at least find a substitute, or maybe make my own.
But a substitute can be found.
I’ve had the same vent for YouTube for years. And the same rebuttals that I can possibly find replacements if I know what it was that was deleted.
I think they might have patched this, I can’t get it to work anymore, nothing shows up in the page source
WHAT IN THE FRENCH~! I seriously am pissed about this - how am I to know - at least give me a “description”
