The whole system is made for you to take it as something regular, as a job, the designs have a strong boost the first 7 days and then receive a small amount of points permanently over time, this is known as EVERGREEN. Basically, a job that is done once but gives a small reward on a steady basis for a long time.
Look at the top designers, for example Sabre Desings, do you really think that person doesn’t see Maker World as a job? Go to their profile, look at the downloads and boosts and make your own numbers, add to that the commission of all the models that have an accessory from the Maker Supply program.
