If I buy a new P1S that has the new auth changes will I be able to download and install the firmware without the auth changes? I have 2 P1S’s and I use orca slicer, and I’d prefer to not have to use some silly secondary app to send my prints to the printer etc. I know I can just not upgrade the firmware on my current printers, but if I buy new printers in the future will I be able to downgrade them to remove the auth service?

The P1S does not ship with the Auth software at the moment, it is only for Beta and only on the X1. Even if you wanted to you couldn’t install it on the P1S quite yet.

Yes but sometime in the future I expect new machines to come with the latest firmware. So I need to know if I’ll be able to downgrade the firmware. Otherwise I need to make plans to move off of bambu for my print farm.
You know better your needs and its your wallet, but if Bambu doesn’t change its current course, despite Bambu printers being really good machines, I’d suggest you starting to look at alternatives, just in case.
