Hey so I just got an AMS 2 pro with a p1s. Its worked great so far but I was wondering why it can’t dry and print at the same time. This is a problem a lot of people are having. My one question is, is it a firmware thing or an AMS thing (would i have to buy a new AMS).
I’m guessing they just don’t want to risk feeding warm, soft filament into the printer.
They believe that heating the filament (which dries it), would cause issues when drawing filament into the print head, namely, the heat would soften the filament and could cause stretching, breaks or damage.
This is likely a concern more than reality as other companies do nit have the same limitation, and a company that retrofits your existing AMS (original), into four independently heated distinct chambers, allows heating while printing.
ah I see, what they could do is add a cooler in the funnel where the filament go’s in
