Will the TPU Assist work without the AMS HT?

Do I need to us a AMS HT to feed the TPU Assist or can I feed it directly?

The short answer is no, you don’t “have” to have an AMS-HT, you can just use the external spool adapter. That being said if you want to have it in a dryer to keep the filament dry while printing then obviously yes, you need one. I used to have the TPU running from my old filament dryer to the Assist module and it worked just fine.

I do have a Creality dryer, it doesn’t have motorized feed system like AMS HT.

My old dryer wasn’t motorized either.

When feeding soft TPU via the bypass outlet, the HT doesn’t use the motorized feed or rollers at all anyway. Basically any decent dry box with smooth rollers or spindle will work. I have an HT, and a Pi x4, but prefer to feed from boxes I built myself (Rubbermaid bin, rollers, etc., similar to many published designs). The HT outlet is in an awkward spot for my setup, the Pi is just too large and lives separately, and with my own boxes I don’t have to open them at all to use 'em (until the spool runs out).
