I’m wondering if the embargo will end for them like at the stroke of midnight on the 25th or specifically at 10am EST tomorrow.
10am. They want all the reviews at the same time the printer launches, and they wouldn’t want YTers to announce it before they do.
Would you guys trust some “influencer’s review” right after the printer has been barely launched?!? I know I wouldn’t. Even if they have had received their printers weeks prior the launch date, there was not enough time to thoroughly test it and provide an unbiased opinion. A review made after 4 to 6 months of running the printer through its paces might be more credible, provided the reviewer isn’t on Bambu’s “payroll”…or seeks to increase its audience …and ratings.
I just want to see video of the printer ASAP
You just take the review time into account when you decide. You hear what they say, if they say it’s good, you keep in mind how long they’ve tested it. You factor in what Bambu’s done with other products. You factor in what the YouTuber said in the past and how they are perceived by the community. Then if you think it’s worth the risk for you - you take the risk. If you don’t need the capability right now and you are risk adverse, you sit and wait.
There is plenty of value in the reviews or promo videos for sure and I look forward to seeing them.
Maybe The Next Layer will release his video early! (If you are reading this Jonathan, I’m just joking!!! ;))
I was really unhappy when he did that before. What was it with, the A1 mini? It’s just disrespectful to Bambu.
Embargos? Nahhhh never heard of em
The reviews will all be great because reviewers dont want the backlash of saying anything negative. Then, a year later, we will see the same reviewers mention the negatives, while doing videos on other printer brands. Rinse and repeat. The most glowing of youtube video titles will get the most views. If anybody says something negative, they will be deemed a shill for xxxxx brand
Embargos normally have a timezone specific time and date, so the embargo is lifted equally for all. Youtubers and the like can just schedule the video to be released, so it’s no big deal for them.
Which youtuber will you guys choose to watch first? Im not sure who is the most accurate these days.
Whoever’s video is in my feed first
Ahh. Im thinking there will be a bunch at the same time.
Is it available from today, then? Do we know they’ve shipped out review hardware?
I assumed it was just a full announcement and (probably) pre orders
Tomorrow (maybe today for you, time zones and all) will be launch, reviewers have had them in hand for a while
allegedly, FranklyBuilt hadn’t yet received his, though is slated to, he showed a box that was only accessories, not the printer on his latest vid, but that he’d be getting it ‘soon’ when other YTers do. so some may have had it for a while, others may not until everyone finds out info?
The very first time i heard about reviewers getting units was the beginning of q4 2024. But there was a release delay, so they may have asked for them back and sent out new ones. Im sure somebody will tell the story behind it tomorrow.
Kind of, yes. Unless a reviewer actively changes visible results you can think and judge for yourself if the results are acceptable. Even by ommitting things you can make conclusions yourself.
Even after month reviewers can and will be biased and interpret data another way. Early review show a trend and that trend nakes me better informed if I want to buy something. But be critical with ANY review or commercial.
As for now the price is my concern. Ive seen enough features to want to buy the device if the price is acceptable.
we dont need to trust anything, we just want to see wha tit can and cant do, from diffrent sources. I get longtime hold up and if it can last, not break down etc, yea that will come later.
Don’t “trust” an influencer that got their printer free ever imo, or affiliate links either imo
Value their opinion, listen to their comment. But don’t trust them
one month they will tell you to sell your printer, the next they’ll tell you to buy one
I think that video was recorded a week or two ago so he’s probably already got it tested and ready now
About that regarding trust, A ) I absolutely agree, especially ESPECIALLY when they are literally reciting the marketing bullet points verbatim (the worst), but B ) when they show me via examples I tend to trust more especially when it’s corroborated by others (e.g. aurora tech usually shows rather than relies on opinion for most of her reviews). that said, Frank said something recently that made me go ‘hmm maybe’ regarding “Sunken Cost”, most of us know sunken cost as a logical fallacy, but he was saying it is a reason why some reviewers who paid their own money have a tendency to affirm their choice with praise. I do see this happen to reviewers who only have a couple of reviews, especially the ones who are very ‘loyal’ to one brand and try to actually throw shade at other brands (stopped watching a couple of Prusa purists because of this) and then of course there’s the pure shills like Sam Prentice here, guy is a paid spokesperson for Creality and pretends he’s not while hosting their anniversary specials and living in their China showroom without paying rent. Sorry for the rabbit hole,
TL;DR: not all free receivers are full of it.
