Wireless Earphone Accessories contest

Hello . Will it be only for airpods , or wireless headphones too ?

It’s not “Airpods Accessories contest”, so of course it applies to any earphone.

Michelem is absolutely right! Not just for airpods, it could also be a nice headphone stand for example :grinning:

Thank you very much. .

I have zero ideas for joining the contest, but as user I am very interested in this contest

@MakerWorld is the contest for JUST earphones (as in in-ear versions) or all headphones (including over the ear versions)?

You mentioned creating a stand, that makes little sense as most earphones (in-ear) come with a charge case.

Earphones is a very specific sub-set or the overall headphones category with headphones being both the category name and a sub-type of over the ear variant and earphones only referring to the in-ear sub-type.

In short…

  • ALL headphones?
  • ONLY Ines you gam in your ears?

Plus,

  • Wireless only?
  • Wireless or cabled?

Good Point Malc, it should be all Headphones instead of just Earphones.

@MakerWorld Are you going to update the contest name?

It still shows the phrase “earphones” which you have now agreed with me, should be all types.

Leaving it as it is continues the confusion.

Yet another example of how much thought and consideration was applied when getting this contest going…
With all the confusion and problems for so long one would expect Makerworld would do better in terms of defining rules, conditions requirements and such.
The user has to follow whatever is imposed but it seems Makerworld still struggles to apply the same standards on their end :frowning:
Oh well, there is always room to improve I guess…

Another fun thing to notice is that the name’s now " Head/Earphone Accessories Design Contest" and the wireless part was dropped from the name (but is retained in the theme) and at least 2 entries are for wired earphones

Now that I think of it, the joining contest process should be a bit more involved than selecting your model and clicking “join.” What I’d recommend is to have a dialog pop up after clicking “join” that displays contest theme with sticking points highlighted and a checkbox that says “my model does fit the theme and i accept point penalty if it doesn’t” and buttons: “join” and “cancel” so that user can opt out.
