Wireless Mouse Components Kit 002 question

Question
Does this mouse have the side buttons for forward/back?
Does the scroll wheel tilt left/right?

These are minor features that I am so used to using and it would be tough to change habits with a new mouse. I do like the ergo design though.

You will need the actual mouse kit to make sure your print will both print and function correctly as a mouse.

Once you have the kit, you can confirm what you need, and where you need it. After printing, you can make sure the mouse moves correctly and all buttons work as designed by the kit.

Mine does not have the side buttons, and it doesn’t appear to tilt the scroll wheel either.

OK then. Thank you for your quick response.

Let’s assume that I have the mouse kit in-hand with a completed 3D model of the mouse. Upon final assembly with the battery installed and the connection between mouse & computer confirmed, does this mouse have the side buttons for forward/back? Does the scroll wheel tilt left/right?

It appears to me, from looking at the part’s kit, that the side buttons are not there and it’s un-clear about the wheel tilts.
Just looking for clarification.

Thank you.

No there isn’t side buttons nor wheel tilt.
There are only left, right, middle and mouse click.
And the mouse is wireless but not Bluetooth, it requires an USB receiver in order to work.

That’s not the best mouse feature wise. But it’s still fun to build and have a functional 3d printed wireless mouse.

I’m concerned that you and others will design mice that purport to work with the mouse kit without any way you can confirm that.

This will leave potential users to download something that will never connect to the mouse kit as you forgot something in the design process or your tolerances are out.

I believe all uploaded models must have printed models to confirm the designer has achieved an actual printable model as so many don’t even know that it is a requirement.

With a contest theme of designing something that works with the mouse kit, then a mouse kit is something you must have to prove to the rest of us that you have proven it does work with the mouse kit.

Users will not enjoy printing something they then have to throw away, wasting time, filament, and energy costs.

No one has to enter every contest.

I think he is wondering if he should buy the mouse kit to make a mouse, not as he wants to join the mouse contest.

His post and questions have nothing to do with the contest.

I’m sorry, I confused your question with someone else’s.

I am further sorry that it took two people (in quick succession) to point it out.

Thanks, I was wrong.

Does anyone know from what distance to what distance infrared still works?

I ordered my wireless mouse (kit002) in July 2024 and today I wanted to use the mouse again but the USB dongle is apparently defective. It is no longer recognized by any PC. I also googled it and on Reddit you can read a lot about the parts dying quickly. That is really sad.

Hi, I have a question about the mouse kit and can’t create a new topic. The mouse kit goes off after some minutes of inactivity. To reactivate it, I have to click, what generate an unwanted click in the UI of the computer. Is there a way to de-activate, or make it last longer than a few minutes? Thanks for your help.

I have the same challenge with 2 kits that I ordered and printed. Hopefully someone has insights into how to fix the mouse turning off aggressively

Same here, and for mine I actually have to physically turn on the switch underneath the mouse. :-\
