Wish list for 2026 from Bambu

Thanks, @maxim3D . Unless I misunderstood a while back, I was told I still need to retract the TPU manually before using another filament in the same nozzle. I do have the internal 4-into-1 in the RH nozzle PTFE path from earlier experiments with 90A.

Yes you do, but if you have a TPU feed assist module its as easy as pressing two buttons, ā€œunloadā€ on printer and ā€œretractā€ on module.

I’ll just state in general that I have not had a single problem with our H2D Pro that was not PICNIC… It has been ultra-reliable. Reading this forum, sometimes I wonder if I’m not pushing it hard enough or something… But I don’t do reflow soldering in my toaster oven and it too does exactly what it needs to…

I’m used to not walking over to the printer room until I’m pulling a print off the print plate… :wink: There is no way to integrate the necessary commands into Studio? (gcode macro etc…, I’m familiar with CNC gcode but not with the way FDM uses it…)

It does sound like it’s definitely worth asking the boss if I can order an assist module in any case

I am aware of it’s reduced strength, however I very much like the visual appearance in relation to some standard PETG.

I just ordered my first batch of Bambu PETG Basic, and have to judge it’s visual appearance. Hopefully it’s similar.

If it’s glossy, I’ll have to look for some other brand.

Do you use supports with the PETG-GF and if so, is PLA suitable for the interface layer. Maybe I’m being lazy to not try on my own but I always like to learn from others’ experience when I can… :slight_smile:

Yes PLA works perfectly for supporting any type of PETG or TPU.

I am doing this also, but I am trying to time the Retract on the TPU feeder just after the printer cut the filament, so it’s not trying to stretch my TPU to double length in the meantime.

And even then I hear a kind of sound of a released string.

You’re just activating both at the same time?

I retract it a tiny bit to relive the pressure, then fully again after its cut. Im sure you can just wait until its cut and do it then.

Any GF or CF filaments tend to stick a little more to supports due to the fibers but they still separate easy enough.

I’m feeling like a tool changer from Bambu might be a tall order, especially in time for 2026. :thinking: I’d almost speculate we might see a A1 refresh, or an A1 mini refresh. I know the A2L was kind of a refresh vs a ground breaking new installment, and people complained about that. What is there really to add though?? Hmm, They are the entry models, and pretty solid as it is.

My wishlist for Bambu is more so, I want them to hire more software engineers and UX designers, please, haha. Bambu suite could use some more polish, I feel like.

I also really want to see more Cyberbrick stuff.

When I need some extra stickiness for PLA I have a spool of the old ā€œSupport for PLAā€. It sticks a bit much but its great for tricky geometries, too bad they swapped it for the new one that is not as good. I did get a spool of Polymaker Polysupport as Ive heard its the same formula as the old stuff, but I have not tested it yet.

I can’t use fibre filament (GF, CF etc) on things that will be handled a lot.

You can overmould with TPU for grips etc, thats what I do.

Thing I want most of all is some slicer improvements, feels like the hardware is advancing quickly and the software is slower to catch up.

I would like an option to speed up (or decrease) the print speed by 10%, 20%, etc, not just silent, sport and ludicrous. In the slicer it doesn’t even say what those do.

I’d like an on-the-fly flow ratio adjustment, especially as my Bambu PLA matte diameters range between 1.68 mm and 1.77 mm. I’ve cancelled countless prints to go back to the printer to adjust the flow ratio…
