I know the A1 got hot-swappable nozzles so it is likely the successor to the X1 will also get the feature. I would love to see this as an upgrade we could retrofit to for our old printers. Just thought I would put it out there. I know two bolts and three cables isn’t that much hassle, but it does become tiring if you need to do it a multiple times a day.
The Swiss3DC third party hotend looks promising.
Stefan from CNC Kitchen has an interview with the them starting at 1:40.
Wow that looks interesting! (as long as you remember to change the nozzle setting) Changing it that quickly could open up multi-nozzle prints as being viable.
Do you know if the A1 auto-detects which nozzle type is fitted?
I don’t think the A1 has any way of detecting what size of nozzle is in it.
No, the A1 Series can’t automatically tell what nozzle is installed. But you can select the installed nozzle in the device settings menu, through Bambu Studio, or the Handy App. This will enable nozzle mismatch notifications when you start a new print.
I guess they will save the autodetect feature for the X1 successor as it can be classed as a premium feature so would make sense.
