Wrong plate (PEI) sent

oh, that’s very nice, thanks for the link! gives some vent holes too!

For the moment I have the jankiest of enclosures which I cut from the cardboard box the other stuff i ordered came in came in :joy:

I may post it just because it is so gloriously ghetto, but hey, it gets the job done while I wait for hardware to arrive!

I think that big list is what it’s compatible with.

I could be wrong and the boxes and big section is explaining compatibility etc… But to me it looks like it’s letting you know what works with the printer. Again, I’m more than likely wrong.

Yeah, I think that’s what they meant to do, and they have now changed it to reflect that (added the “compatibility” part), but when i ordered it just said “build plate surface” (see screenshot above).

I suspect whoever maintains the website just copy pasted from the X1 specs, which is an understandable and common mistake.

The sky isn’t falling, I’ll live through this tragedy somehow :joy: but it will be interesting to see how support handles this. Given the product description when I ordered, I don’t think it is unreasonable to be disappointed that the plates in the description didn’t come with it, but it’s also not a class action lawsuit either, y’know?

Eh, we’ll see what happens I guess.

I think you’ll be happier with the plate you got. Just based on other posts here. I’ve got the X1C and it needs glue etc… From what I understand the pei does not.

I’m sure I’ll be using the textured PEI most of the time (that’s why I ordered a second one without realizing it). But there are some prints I do where I will not want the texture on the print. I also do a fair amount of TPU printing, and I think the textured plate could be problematic for that - that stuff STICKS.

All that said, I am loving the PEI plate
