Wrong plate (PEI) sent

Hi all, new P1P owner, as I took advantage of the sale. I received my P1P and it came with the dual sided PEI plate installed, rather than the engineering, cold, and high temp plates that are listed on the store page. Also, my parts package did not contain the scraper metal piece.

Wondering if this happened to anyone else? I’m a little miffed that I didn’t get the correct plates, especially as i had ordered a PEI plate as an add-on, so now I have two of them. I guess it’s nice to have a backup, but I don’t really need it, and it will cost me more to get the correct plates

I’ve put in a request to support on Friday, haven’t heard back yet, so thought I’d see if anyone else has had this happen and how/if it was resolved.

You’ve got the right plate. The P1P package contains the Bambu Dual-Sided Textured PEI Plate. It’s in the specs.

That might be in the technical specs on a pdf, but it isn’t what is advertised on the webpage when you order.

It very clearly says " Build Plate Surface Bambu Cool Plate, Bambu Engineering Plate, Bambu High Temperature Plate"

It doesn’t say it is optional, and it doesn’t mention the PEI plate at all.

So it says one thing in the small print and a different thing in the big print, which is a problem, and one they should fix. This is not a good introduction to their products.

Maybe you’re right. But it is a young company and the product is good. You’ve done the right thing contacting the support. Maybe they can help you and you are able to send back the 2nd PEI plate and get a refund. Then you can get the Bambu High Temperature Plate (PEI).

With the Dual-Sided Textured PEI Plate you are also able to print all the materials. Because I do not like handling glue stick, I don’t miss the Bambu High Temperature Plate (PEI). For a nice smooth bottom surface I’ve got a smooth PEI sheet from Super 3D. I’m very happy with this setup. :slightly_smiling_face:

What it says in the specs is not what it comes with, that is describing the possible specs as known, you need to look at the section where it says “what’s included”
Every company does the same, I go on the specs for future possible usage, and then see what it comes with, you’ll be more than happy with the supplied plate

I just purchased the P1P for primarily printing PETG (waiting for it to arrive). I have been printing PETG on a Prusa for years with the textured PEI sheet. I have never used a glue stick and the PETG sticks great and pops off flawlessly when the print cools with the Prusa. Is this the same with the P1P printer? Do I need the glue stick as noted on the manual for PETG on the textured sheet?

Thanks… Richard

If you read the store listing you will see that in the specs it is compatible with the other plates.

But it comes with the textured PEI plate, which is what it clearly says in the “What’s in the box”.

Specs and compatibility should not be interpreted as “comes with”. Specs say that you can use various filament types. You would not expect it to include every filament type and all the filament that you would ever need.

Specs are specs. They are not a listing of what comes in the box.

PET-G no glue on supplied plate, only had it a week and still never used glue once, printed loads of PET-G and PLA

Thanks. What brand of filament are you using?

Jayo, nothing special, I had it on my Ender 3 S1 Pro and needed glue and endless bed levelling doh!

I’ve been using pretty much exclusively PETG since i got it, using the PEI plate, and parts are coming out nicely, albeit with some tweaking in the slicer. At least for my parts, I think Bambu’s stock bridge settings (and overhang settings to some extent as well) are overly optimistic and need to be slowed down to get decent quality on the underside. In fact, i think it’s better to slow down most of the speed setting from stock PETG profiles, but I’m printing large and/or quite tall parts, so your mileage may vary. I’m very much liking the ability to paint support areas for those tall skinny prints as well.

Just bear in mind, if using the textured PEI, the underside of your prints will have that texture on them.

Depending on your use case, that texture may be desireable, NBD, or unacceptable.

In my case, that texture is not acceptable, requiring me to juggle my parts around in the slicer, and it’s been a bit of a pain, which is why I’m a bit miffed it didn’t come with what they listed in big bold letter on the front page of the product.

Aha, they have now changed the product front page. Go up to my screen shot I took, it’s been changed from what it used to say. Glad i took that screen shot to prove it.

I like that LED frame setup. Do you happen to have a link for it? It’s looks sort of like this one, but it’s not the same (https://www.printables.com/model/519166-bambu-p1p-light-frame).

I got the stock LED kit, came installed. but it’s a bit dim, thinking I might augment it.

Had to cut a wee bit off the front edges of the left and right pieces because it was originally made for the X!C and that top is slightly longer
