X1 the best Bambu Lab printer for PLA/PETG?

The Bambu Lab store recommends printing PLA with the door open and glass top off – and PETG with the glass top off. Is this common practice? If so, would the P1P be a better fit for people who only ever want to print PLA and PETG?

I bought the X1 and print mainly PLA but wanted to be flexible for the future to printer other material which are more sensitive to temperature turbulences. As my AMS sits on top of the X1, I only have the door open and it prints just fine.

If your goal is to print only PLA, I think the P1P would fit just as well and there is no need to pay the extra for the X1. On the other hand, if you want to keep your option open and can affort, it does for sure not hurt to get the X1

Also that may depend on your local temperatures. My X1CC is sitting in the basement of a house near Hamburg, germany. Room temperature is around 16°C. The chamber of the X1 doesn’t get hotter than 30-35°C when printing with PLA or PETG, which is fine. I don’t have to open doors.

I print a lot of prusament petg and I didn’t notice this warning up until now. But haven’t had any issues with it with a bed temp of 85c

I have my AMS on top so it is difficult to open the top.
