X1 with AMS, didnt auto switch rolls

When I first installed my printer, I loaded slot 4 first (and only slot 4). The printer complained that I had not loaded any filament and to please get onto doing that.

Only after I loaded slot 1 was it happy (then the other slots). So looks like you’re on the money here.

Hopefully this is a simple firmware fix in a future update. Slot order should not matter. If filament is detected in any slot that matches what just ran out, switch to it.

Kudos for even making this possible though. Someone had a good idea.

I think I figured out where I first saw that filament slot order was important.

Was printing a benchy for a new color filament today and noticed this. I think this is also how I figured out that the AMS slot order determines color printing order as well. If you’re printing with multiple colors and want them to print in a specific order, you need to arrange them in the AMS from left to right in the order you want them printed.

I just “tested” this today for you :). I had an empty spool in slot AMS1-1, and a full spool in slot AMS2-3. It didn’t switch over to the spool in AMS2-3 when AMS1-1 ran out.

I submitted a support ticket today on it, so will see what they come back with. Seems like a firmware/logic bug.

I am on firmare 1.05.01.00 and the past 3 days of continuus printing of black pla in all slots. Never made a switch. had to add another spool or move one over. AMS box checked in Bambu studio 1.5.0.61
confirmed AMS checked in Handy app.
Did not switch for me

I did find this morning the generic PLA filament temp settings were slightly different.
I emptied the AMS chose generic PLA on on both spools, but the the max temp on one was 240 the other 250.
Not sure why, could be a conflict of one of my saved filament profile. Looking into that next.
When first checking generic and PLA and color the min max temp is zero on both. Then once confirmed it generates the temp.
Now i have to check on each what temps are set.
