It’s not a clog. I have an X1C with like 4500 hours that has intermittently been starting prints like 5mm of the bed. When it goes to lay the first layer down it just prints in air. Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn’t. It’s like it’s not zeroing properly. Often times just resetting the print will fix it, but has anyone seen this happening? Filament still comes out so it’s not a clog. It’s just starting too high off the bed. I know sooner or later if I don’t check I’m going to come back to a clump unless I fix this.
Do you print a lot of tall parts? The bed wiring harness might be starting to fail?
No, I print pretty small parts in general under 80mm high. I have printed some tall parts but they wouldn’t be more than like 5% of the total print time.
I’ve had this happen to me once, I followed the steps in the post below and my issue was fixed. Your miles may vary, but worth a try.
