Today I found out that the whole time im printing with a hardened nozzle. Maybe switching to stainless steel (like it is recommend) will make my prints better and maybe no cloggs anymore?
Might help, might not - you can reach a higher max volumetric flow with stainless steel on all filament types. But Bambu set the default volumetric flow below the hardened nozzleâs max.
Again, there is a reason why it is not recommended to print PLA enclosed. The fact that some people were/are lucky does not change the fact. I donât get the reason why still driving this topic.
If itâs because of the noise: Then the P1P/X is simply not the right product because printing PLA fast means a lot of cooling and therefore noise.
Print ABS, fully enclosed, no aux fan, no chamber fan, only a bit part cooling fan. Apart from mechanical noise, no noise is present.
Is the stainless steel nozzle really recommended for PLA? Or is the P1P (which only has a stainless steel nozzle) only recommended to print non abrasive filaments like PLA and ABS?
Look at bambuâs hp. Stainless steel PLA/PETG, hardened steel carbon nylon etcâŚ
Right, because itâs only suitable for common 3d printing filaments. The hardened steel nozzle is suitable for common 3d printing filaments like PLA and PETG too, but also suited for abrasive filaments:
Doesnât seem like the stainless steel nozzle is recommended over the hardened steel for PLA.
Okay are you happy now?
I was just trying to figure out if I needed to get a ârecommendedâ nozzle, which is why I asked for the source of your information. It seemed to contradict the hardened steel nozzle product documentation.
I would think youâd be happy now since you donât have to spend more money on another nozzle to solve your printing problem.
Who is printing with his Prusa MK3 or Ender 3 etc⌠with a hardened nozzle? Everyone using brass nozzle, copper or stainless steal. If you only printing pla, than it makes no sense to use a hardened steal nozzle.
The cost of the hardened steel nozzle is the same as the stainless and brass ones, I think the hardened steel nozzle will take much longer to wear out.
Iâm digging all the info in here. Gotta try it out myself.
Great info @zviratko
Wear out with pla? sure
I actually saw a recent video about white PLA causing wear because it uses Titanium dioxide to color it from natural to white.
Ok, lets not insult each other please.
Facts, on the Textured plate, We recommend door open or lid off. build plate is at 55c or warmer. For most PLA goal is under 40c inside the chamber. But even at 40c some filaments can have issues causing a clog. It sounds like you have a heat creep issue. But yet under 40c. Why some donât have this issue and some do has to do with ambient temperatures, filament brand chemistry, temperature of vitrification, retraction settings, and any number of things.
Me, Iâve been printing with door closed, only open it some if temp hits 40c. Usually only a problem on longer prints. Such as 5 hours+ It could also be why I have had a couple nasty nozzle clogs possibly. The printing in the air is usually related to a clog. The fact that you can print again later, tells me it is possibly a flow problem. Or a partial clog happens and then clears. This is all most likely do to temps. A support ticket and logs after one of these failures might shed more light on to what is going on. Be sure to mention that chamber temp is below 40c so you donât think your chamber is getting too warm to be causing the issue. Ask for the logs to be read to get a better idea of what might be going on.
Then again if you are now printing with the door open when bed is 55c, and it is working then that is the answer. If still issues, then still open a ticket.
Great point! Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Since i removed this thing, I had no heat creep again with closed enclosure. But i keep testing more.
Hey, i use this muffler https://www.printables.com/model/350953-bambu-lab-chamber-fan-muffler i have never had heat creep or a plugged nozzle. I use it with PLA, PETG and ABS. When using PLA the dbâs are around 51 and chamber temps are under 40c. My house temp is 71f.
HTHs
I forgot to say that inside it was lined with felt.
Since removing that piece does it seem to have solved your issue ?
Your patience and attempts to resolve the issue are greatly appreciated and noted on my end along with other people in here Iâm sure
