X1C and Polymaker PolyMax™ PC-FR

Hi there

Anyone tried to print with Polymaker PolyMax PC-FR on X1C?
If Yes, what chamber temp., Bed temp, nozzle temp did You go with.

When I read up on the filament it seem to need 90-100C degrees chamber temp, but can’t imagine that You can get that temp inside chamber w/o adding external heat, further more I couldn’t imagine that printer is constructed to work with that chamber temp.

Welcome to the forum.

If you need 90-100c chamber temp, the X1C is not the printer for you.

Hi Jon
Thanks for fast reply.
I have the printer  But Polymaker wrote Me, that it should be no problem printing the filament on X1C using generic profile, but I have My doubts - That’s why I turned to the forum. Couldn’t imagine that the interior/electronics/belt of the X1C would like the high temp…

Hi Kim –

Have you attempted to print the PolyMax PC-FR on the X1C? If so, did you end up using the “Bambu PC” or “Generic PC” profile?

I am looking into testing this out and was curious if you had any luck.

-Tom

I’ve used my X1C to print with Polymax PC and had no problems at all. I don’t remember even taking care to preheat or allow a slow cooldown period. Other than listing the 100°C chamber temp for PC-FR, the Polymaker web site suggests the same print settings for both filaments.

I started with Bambu’s Generic PC settings and calibrated temperature, flow and PA with OrcaSlicer.

Hi Tom

I actually never did try. I was a bit worried about the stress on the electronics the high chamber temp would cause. But I can see that Larry (Ikraus) tried it out. I did contact Polymaker, and they actually told Me it should be possible using the generic settings and adjusting them.

Kind Regards
Kim

Hi Larry

Thanks for Your feedback. As I wrote to Tom, I was quite a bit worried about the stress on the electronics with such a high chamber temp. But Your post makes Me reevaluate.

Kim

Hi Larry

Almost forgot. Did You use anything external to get/keep the high camber temp?

Kind Regards
Kim

No. Chamber temp was not a concern for me at the time, so I don’t know if I even looked at it. The Polymaker site still does not mention anything about chamber temp for PC.

Today, I would probably preheat the chamber with the bed until the temperature stops rising, and leave the door closed after the print until the temperature drops to near room temp.
