X1C belt rattling

Hello everyone,

Since the Bambu Studio update I have had a problem with my Bambu Lab X1C. In version 1.8.4 and earlier the print head automatically moved forward a little after each print to avoid collisions when it moved backwards during the next print. Since the update this movement is missing and the print head immediately moves backwards even though there is no space there.

Has anyone noticed similar problems?

Thank you for your answer, I have changed it now and hope that you understand me now

I do not recognize any motions of my X1C (v1.8.0.0) that match your description of the print head moving forward after each print, or the head moving backward to avoid collisions during the next print.

Nothing in your post has anything to do with “belt rattling”.

Sometimes unexpected behavior after a firmware update can be corrected by restoring factory settings. (Settings>General>Restore factory settings) This will erase any filament calibrations stored on the printer.

The belt rattle occurs because the print head no longer moves forward after printing. The next time you start it, it moves directly against the rear wall, which causes the belts to slip.

Haven’t you also noticed a rather loud rattling noise when you start a print?

I saw that in the old Studio version there is a bit more end G-code than in the new one, maybe that has something to do with it?

After printing, my print head moves all the way to the rear and stops. There is no belt slipping or rattling noises when starting a print.

I recommend that you first try restoring the factory settings. If that does not stop the belt slipping/rattling, start new support ticket with Bambu.

I seem to have this issue. I wonder if my belts are loose and its supposed to stall instead of barking the belt.

it doesnt happen every time, but most times after the x1c has been sitting idle. did you ever resolve your issue? I have 2200 hours on it, my other x1c has 600 and doesnt have this issue. Same firmware as far as I know, they are both updated

My gut feeling tells me you have a different problem. When was the last time you completely serviced your printer? That would definitely be the first step I’d try.

I was able to solve the problem and have now tested the whole thing for over a week, and everything seems to be running smoothly again. Bambu Lab told me to enter this G-code:
G90
G1 X128 Y250 F3600
as shown in the image.
