You’ll be able to go back to 1.7.1, you wouldn’t really want anything less 'cos then you’ll have the all noise as well. You’ll be fine, unless you in the 1% that always has a problem with everything. I must be part of the 99% 'cos I’ve only ever had an issue with one update that I rolled back, it was fixed in few days.
There are people who have upgraded to the newest firmware 01.07.02.00 and do not have to option to rollback firmware so I believe this is still disabled do, to this Rooted: The Good the Bad and Freedom of Choice (bambulab.com) I had had issue’s since I updated to 01.07.01.00 if possible I would recommend staying below 01.07.00.00 plus you will still benefit from the Nosie Cancellation. But that’s just my opinion others have no issue when updating the firmware its a roll of the dice.
In about a week there’s going to be a way to roll back the firmware. Bambu can’t stop it.

Thanks for the replies they’re pretty much what I was expecting. I will always be wary of FW “updates” where the ability to roll back is not possible. I am still trying to sort my Creality Sonic Pad after it was rendered useless with and “update” When I take delivery of my X1 Carbon I will check the installed FW and if it is not too old, run with it until I get a feel for the communities opinions on FW versions. With different manufactures of the same chips on the main board there will always be room for errors to creep in.
