On my X1C I am getting a error message “before loading make sure your filament is pushed into the tool head.” I have tried feeding from external spool and from the AMS. I have searched topics but can’t find an answer.
But this is what mine is doing -When I start the loading process, it loads the filament, I can see it extruding initially when you are supposed to watch for it coming out of the nozzle, and it also extrudes when it gives the message “purging the old filament” and THEN I get the above error message. it wont let me do anything else as when you click on the error message it takes you back to the beginning of the load filament screen/process.
So the nozzle/extruder is not blocked and the filament is loading into the extruder. I have taken the extruder apart and it is fine. Have restarted the printer and run calibration. Would love some help or ideas on this issue!
I’ve never run into this issue myself, but I know what I’d look at if I did.
Take a look at the extruder filament sensor. It’s located on the top side of the toohead and is meant to detect the presence of filament at the toolhead. Not sure if it can be serviced/cleaned or not, but I’d hazard to guess it’s the culprit.
Makes sense. Didnt reallize they had one on the extruder itself. Means I cant print for a couple days, maybe Ill look at old one and figure out if I can jump it somehow for now. Appreciate it-
Had this several times, and it’s the clear plastic piece on the extruder. Sometimes it gets stuff jammed in it and you have to clean it out. It’s basically 2 bolts that holds it in, and it’s a little tricky to slide out and then back in, but not too hard. Sometimes you can get it cleaned out and it will work other times it just has to be replaced. So if you have an old extruder you could pull that sensor off and replace it.
Well I replaced the filament sensor with a new one and it’s still doing the same thing - checked the connection where it plugs into the board and all looks good - It wont let me get past the loading screen
Its weird , it senses that the filament is in there when I go to unload - it tells me to remove the filament and when I pull it back the message goes away soo IDK and bambu makes it so hard to submit a ticket with the required logs and everything its ridiculous
