Sharing a small guide to install a better fan to your X1C hot end.
So I found that Sunon Maglev fans are significantly quieter and move similar or more air compared to the ball bearing fans that are stock.
WARNING Not a mod for a beginner at soldering. WARNING
To do this mod you need to buy a Sunon MF25100V1-1000U-G99 (A99 might work, must be V1 fan), de-solder the wires, cut wires from a stock fan and solder on those wires onto the Sunon. Pay attention to which wire goes where. The text shows the color that was originally soldered to the fan and it’s purpose.

Maglev Sunon - https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/sunon-fans/MF25100V1-1000U-G99/10289732 ( https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/sunon-fans/MF25100V1-1000U-A99/7805269 - might have the circuit for the rpm sensor tach and PWM without needing to remove a 3rd cable )
Get a sacrificial hot-end fan here - Cooling Fan for Hotend - X1C or buy a complete hot-end kit for your next hot-end purchase or you can buy the connectors that the stock fan uses and get wires.
Some tips -
Cut the stock fan wires as close to the solder joints as possible.
I used a bunch of flux, solder wick, and a knife solder tip.
Set your solder iron temp to 360C (depending on the solder you are using).
Use thin solder (.5mm) for more control over how much solder is on your tip.
