X1C Late Kickstarter model horrible print - Looking for thoughts

I have a X1C Kickstart and an X1C I just bought 3 weeks ago.
On the X1C Kickstart I just replaced the extruder assembly with a brand new one.
Replaced the .4 Nozzle and did the belt tighning and carbon rod cleaning procedure.

I printed the same model on both.

I then put the filament I used on the new X1C into the X1C Kickstarter to make sure it wasn’t a filament issue. Same print, same issue.

My thinking is it has something to do with the right side of the printer since I get good corners on the left side.

Thoughts anyone?

Are both machines running the same firmware version?

Yes. Always up to date firmware.
Although a one color print both are using an AMS.
Even the AMS attached to the kickstart X1C is new.
The old one started failing too much.

So, I manually moved the toolhead back and forth along the X direction on the new and old machines.

On the new machine travel is very smooth on the old machine the travel stutters quite a bit.

I’m betting I need to replace something not easily replaceable.

It’s a long shot but have you tired a factory reset on the kickstarter printer? Perhaps there is some legacy setting that is causing issues? It really is an odd issue.

Did you manage to fix this?

Support had me run GCODE to test carbon rod resistance and found it had significant resistance.
Recommend cleaning rod several times and if that doesn’t fix it replace the carbon rod assembly.
I already cleaned the rods several times so I’ll just be replacing the assembly.

So, not fixed.
I put in a new X-Axis Carbon Rods Assembly
Pray you never have to do this. What an ungodly fix.
Unfortunately, no help. Printing exactly the same way.

Back to the support ticket I guess.

Support has no answer for this only work around.
Has me print at 0.16 High Quality and then it printed fine.
But that adds 90 minutes to the print time.

To be fair not every model is failing at speed. I suspect this has something to do with the long straightway so it gets up to speed then can’t make the corner.

– So when you print on the X1C KS you have the issue but when put on brand new X1C no issues at all?

  • Are you making changes in the settings? Can you show us a screen shot? How many hours do you have on the printer. New belts? Did you grease up the rods or just the lead screws?
  • try looking at the travel paths layer by layers on the slicer maybe its doing something unusual there on the travel paths
  • try completely uninstalling the slicer on your computer and reinstall + factory reset printer
  • Did you design the file or downloaded?
  • Material and brand.

Correct, no issue at all.
The same project, no changes, print on X1C newer model no issue.
Print on X1C kickstarter, print fails.

It is doing nothing special on the travel paths. Again, same project, without changes on 2 different printers.

Same filament Voxel PLA White.
I designed the file.

On the the Kickstarter printer I have now replaced…
X-Axis Carbon Rods Assembly (that includes a new XY Belt)
New Hardened Steel Extruder Unit
New Micro Lidar (it simply failed so needed to be replaced)
New TH Board V9 (sent by support after they told me the wrong Micro Lidar to buy).

It was the TH board I replaced today and it prints worse than ever.
Now prints that actually did print are failing.

This is a print that prints perfectly on my more recent X1C. Again same project prints for both printers without change.
Filament is MatterHacker Build PLA.

Back to support again I guess.
