Figure I’d share the issues I’ve encountered with the Public Beta firmware version 01.08.50.20. We really should have had an announcement so that we’d know about it and have a single topic where we could report and share what’s been found. Regardless, I’ve already submitted these issues via a ticket. Rolling back to stable release fixes the issues.
I’ll try to keep the formatting using what was recommended by Bambu.
Issue 1
Problem Reported: Fan controls in Bambu Studio are blank when attempting to enable or adjust speeds while on beta firmware 01.08.50.20. This is the case for all Bambu Studio 2.x versions. Downgrading Bambu Studio to 1.x allows configuring fan settings. Downgrading firmware to latest stable release of 01.08.05.00 fixes the issue.
Steps to reproduce: Go to Device and Status window. Click Fan button. Popup window shows “Cooling mode is suitable for printing PLA/PETG/TPU materials and filters the chamber air.” message, but no fan controls below message.
Issue 2
Problem Reported: Receive an HMS Warning of “Printing was paused for unknown reason. You can select “Resume” to resume the print job. [0300-8000 150926]” after slicing and attempting to print if the build plate slected in the slicer is not what’s currently installed. Selecting the correct build plate before slicing and printing results in no errors.
Steps to reproduce: Go to Prepare and select a build plate that is NOT currently installed in the printer. Select Slice Plate and Print Plate. Printer will go through normal startup process until it gets to the plate identification, where it presents the following error: “Printing was paused for unknown reason. You can select “Resume” to resume the print job. [0300-8000 150926]”.
Issue:
When I start a print from Studio or Handy, it automatically initiates a Dynamic Flow Calibration—even when the calibration checkbox is disabled—which consistently compromises the print. The black ASA filament cannot be calibrated reliably via the automatic routine, so I always perform this step manually. Unfortunately, Studio and Handy ignore my preference and force the calibration every time, leading to failure. If I start the print directly from the printer’s screen, it correctly respects the checkbox setting.
Howt to Rolling back to the stable version - open Bambu Handy, choose stable (not beta) version… wait… confirm in printer… turn off… wait 10 min. Turn on again
Isn’t that obvious? Why else would you upgrade to beta firmware if it wasn’t to test out the beta firmware? You literally have to sign up and agree to the terms before being offered beta firmware.
It’s normal development release cycles where they are offering public beta testing to give the more helpful community members a chance to use the pre-released software in real world scenarios to find bugs/issues before pushing it out in production.
Not sure why you’re being derogative towards beta testing since it benefits you directly with no consequence to you.
You’re absolutely right. I created a post and posted a message outlining the issue I found in the “X1C Firmware Public Beta” topic category, which is a topic category that’s specific for providing this exact information. It’s not a complaint, it’s a bug report given to Bambu Lab developers and for other testers to see the issue and potentially validate it as a problem.

Hello everyone,
I’m currently using Bambustudio 2.0.354 firmware and printer firmware 01.08.50.20 on my X1C. I can’t access the automatic filament calibration.
I get the error message “Nozzle diameter doesn’t match the machine diameter,” even though both are set correctly. The problem affects the 0.6 and 0.8 nozzles. It works perfectly with the 0.4.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
