I’ve set the PVA settings to everything listed by Okerampa and yet my PVA turns into an outright mess
Double check your settings. I think the default interface layer for PVA is Concentric. All the settings below with a red arrow were automatically selected when I enabled “Support” and chose PVA for the interface material.
But note, that’s just the start. Your issue can be something else, just make sure you are starting at a good point.
Concentric was alright for the first section, soon as it moved to the 2nd…
Adjusting PVAspeed down from 30 to 10 (fingers crossed)
What is the base material? PLA?
It may be an issue which compatibility with the PolyTerra. The looks like what I’d expect to see with incompatible filaments.
I had similar problems as you can see in the pictures. I use PolyDissolve S1 as support for PLA (Bambulab). As a beginner, I would have liked to try Bambulab PVA first, but it wasn’t available at the time. I tried to solve the problem with the setting tips that can be found here in the forum. The following proved to be very helpful in tests:
-
A drastic reduction in the support interface speed (10 mm/s)
-
Increasing the bed temperature to 61 and the nozzle to 226 degrees
The most beautiful and precise interface surface is achieved with the interface pattern concentric. However, this only works if I print exactly one single layer on the PLA. There are problems again with the 2nd layer. If I want to print several PolyDissolve layers on PLA, this works with the interface pattern rectlinear interlaced.
