X1C random resets, lockups,etc

~187 hrs of printing with maybe a dozen (that I noticed) inconsequential ‘resets’, 2 during prints which recovered just fine. Until yesterday morning…

Completed a nice battery dispenser print, tall thing, no trouble and began a shorter dispenser. Wifi drop/recover/drop, well, actually, soft reset, no hard reset, no soft, banded screen of death… and so it continued thru the day - sometimes it would get a print started and lock up, sometimes it would never make home screen, and everything in between eventually ending in a black or banded/dotted screen, and a few times the Logo Screen.

I managed to weasel the log onto the uSD after 6 or 7 tries. At one point it wanted to do a firmware repair/update (it was already current) - 5 tries, managed a ‘restore factory defaults’ which then looped/hung/looped/locked but cleared eventually.

So, the firmware seems to work and has been working since I got the X1C - I thought the previous little glitches might’ve been in there - but it now acts like a bad reset line or power drop / power toggle and it generates no error for it - no ‘scan me’ QR code to look up. Does it without and without AMS, at idle, start of print (if it gets that far), during any process.

Just finished ordering more spares / consumables because I really like this printer - a second one or two P1Ps were/are in the queue if this one made/makes it to say 300hrs with no real issues - a bad board that gets fixed isn’t a dealbreaker. I am chuffed that something has gone south, but it happens, okay. But this is rather new and this shouldn’t happen [so soon]…

I would start with checking the ribbon cable that plugs into the HMI/ control screen

Making sure that the cable is fully plugged in to the touchscreen and that it’s not pinched anywhere
