Brand new out of the box X1C.
The machine booted up and went through the process but stuck generating the QR code. So I had to skip the QR code and use the SD card to print.
I tried to restart the machine and it didn’t work.
I tried to factory reset the machine and it didn’t work.
I tried to use my phone as a hotspot, and it still get stuck generating the QR code.
Bamboo handy cannot find the machine in nearby devices. I tried it on both Android phone and ipad.
I tried to ping the machine, which is set up to be on a fixed ip address, and it responded at about 65ms to 200ms.
I tried to turn on the local mode and use Bamboo studio. The interesting thing is, bamboo studio is able to find the printer, but still failed to connect.
firmware version 01.07.01.00 so it doesn’t support updating firmware from SD card.
On the machine, I tried to test connection to the router (10ms response time) and connecting to the internet (80ms) and they both connected successfully.
I’m out of ideas. I submitted the ticket, but they are telling me the same things that I have already tried. It would be very hard for me to pack everything back to return it. Any help?
Handy/Studio need to be able to reach the WWW.
Both and the printer need to be in the same network.
Setup the printer using the flimsy controller to connect to your Wifi if the programs fail.
Once you are sure program and printer can access the same network (check in your modem/router if in doubt) you can try to bind the printer using the access code.
I am not 100% sure though if the procedure works out of the box for a brand new machine that never got a user assigned.
That’s odd…
So the printer has no issues connecting to your Wifi?
You managed to get your numbered users name into the printer?
Anyway, as a last ditch attempt try this:
On the printer log out of your account - this should make the printer show the QR code again.
Take your phone and if the camera app still won’t support QR codes use an app to check what the code provides.
Still no code showing? Were you able to log into your account from the printer ?
No account, not much luck…
Next try to use BT in the app to discover the printer
If you can connect this way you won’t need the QR code.
But of course it means you need to use the cloud option, not LAN only mode and that both handy and printer use the same account.
I’ve never been able to get the account associated with the printer: the qr code has never showed up, and pairing via the “nearby devices” option (in the app) fails as well (the app sees the printer, but when it tries to bind it complains about a cloud error)
