X1C retraction and feed

Does anyone else have issues with the X1C occasionally throughout a print return to the purge chute, retract the filament and the feed the filament and then continue printing. This causes issues sometime with filament not feeding back in due to some issue. I can’t work out why it retracts for no reason and would love to know how to stop it. If there’s filament it should keep printing.

I am printing with AMS but single colour when it happens. Official Bambu PLA filament.

I think the random restriction causes issues and want to stop it and just keep printing. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I usually get this problem when the filament has trouble feeding. Keeping PTFE paths short and straight and using AMS savers helps somewhat, but I too have not been able to completely eliminate occasional feeding pauses.
Mostly in my case though, it is linked to filament caught on the spool.

I think as @EnoTheThracian said, the most likely cause is that the filament is tangled or getting sucked down in the edge of the spool. If it’s a refill make sure you use the wiki ‘middle out’ push method.

Thank you both. Will try the method
