x1C with AMS arrived today! Was it supposed to have 4 empty spools?

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that the X1C with AMS comes with 4 empty spools so you can order some filament without spools to use with it. Mine did not come with any empty spools.

Otherwise, everything else so far about this printer is blowing my mind. It really is on a whole other level compared to all the printers I’ve used over the last 2 decades. Let’s see how I feel after trying some more notoriously difficult firmaments. LOL

The AMS Combo does not come with empty spools. It does come with 2-3 partial spools and if you were early enough in the Black Friday deals there should be 2 additional spools which would be shipped separately.

When buying the AMS separately (I now have two, will probably end up with four :hugs:), you do get four empty spools.

It also comes with a filament buffer, but when you buy it as your second AMS you already had one which is replaced with the AMS hub you also need to buy for having two AMS’s. So that ends up with two filament buffers to the landfill :cry:

They should sell three different AMS bundles, one with a buffer, one with a hub and one with neither. And in my opinion neither of them should include empty spools - better lower the price. I’m all for reusing spools, but giving them out unsolicited is probably also asking for landfill. If anything they could deliver a few empty spools with printers.

Yes it comes without spools

But:

You can use any used spool from Bambulab. I also ordered 2 extra spools at the beginning, then I had very fast to much of them so I had to throw away and now I don’t need them any more at all… So if you have received a test roll, it will also fit into refill packs once used. There are also print template for spool holders on the printer…

And a free AMS hub fillament introduction can also surfe as an external spool feed as well… So I ordered the AMS hub even I only have one AMS only…

exactly so adjust to just buy refills i bought 1 combo and then directlly 3 AMS :sweat_smile:
the most annoying part no multi hub… also the extra cable and buffer thing will be useful. lets get some guys to build a multihub out of the other buffer assemblies.
