My X1C (approx 2yrs old) has started making this ugly noise when the toolhead moves backward on the Y-axis. It is the worst when the toolhead is in the center of the X-axis, moving backward on the Y.
The printer has received all regular maintenance, and upon tightening the belts and (lightly) oiling the idlers, the noise went away for a couple months and then came back. Support is suggesting it could require a full Core XY Movement System replacement, but I’m not convinced just yet, since the issue is somewhat sporadic.
Let me know if anyone has run into this before (I checked posts and couldn’t find one matching this noise), and what I can check next. Much appreciated!
