X1Plus expansion board for X1 Carbon

Very cool. Take me on the list.

You can go back to the “R” version after updating to the latest official release. I’ve done it.

The features are a part of the X1 Plus firmware. You have to install it to use the board. No extra “plug-in”.

Hi all,

Just an update – I’m working on spinning up a crowdfunding program for this now. More to come when I know more. Right now there is a lot of “hurry up and wait”

I would buy too for the X1C for the ethernet / USB to power external LEDS.

I would be very interested in one of these boards! Thanks

I want one. Then I can put status lights on it and see which printers in my farm are waiting…

Hi all, quick update!

I intend to distribute this through Crowd Supply. I’m working on setting up a prelaunch page with them now, and I’ll hopefully have more information to share within the next week-ish.

I’ve also gotten a bunch more preproduction cable harnesses manufactured, and they look pretty good installed in the printer – a lot less of a wiring mess.

And in the mean time, we have put together a few addin boards for the GPIO connectors! We now have a 5V LED level shifter, so you can give a WS2812B string a full 5V and still meet the input pin voltage requirements. Coming back from the fab today, we have a camera shutter release board, if you want to take time lapses with your DSLR, and we have an andon light board with a small number of programmable LEDs soldered down that you can use for in-place status indication on a print farm.

Once I have a Crowd Supply prelaunch link, I’ll share it here… keep your eyes peeled!

@lkraus Is there a forum or a discourse channel or something where X1Plus users congregate, discuss, etc., or is it basically github for that? I don’t see much discussion of it here on this forum, which is understandable, except for only very occasional threads like this one, so regrettably: out of sight, out of mind.

I understand all this cool stuff is for the X1C, (and to add to the many comments of interest, if I had an X1C, I would definately buy this mod!!) but probably there are far more P1 owners/users (P1S in my case) than there are X1C users in the world (I hope this is not a forgone conclusion, due to price vs. functionality I assume this is the case as P1S is less niche).

So, maybe we need to rally up the P1/S folks and indicate interest: I would very much buy an ethernet card / mod and other goodies increasing the functionality of the P1S! The P1S is a workhorse and provides a sweet spot in price vs performance in the Bambu lineup. It would benefit from being able to be placed and run in locations without or with unreliable WiFi.

Probably quite alot of print farms that would love to have P1S on ethernet.

Different hardware on the P1 series than the X1 series.

Yeah I know. Hence, expressing interest in someone making a mod for a P1S with ethernet and other goodies.

X1Plus discussion is primarily on the official X1Plus Discord Server. I only check in there every couple of weeks to gets hints about future development. I do not like the format and too much of the content is about problems unrelated to X1Plus, or is from people who do not follow instructions.

Github is still the spot to report Issues, but the Discussions there are basically dead. I think a question I asked on June 28 was the last new entry, and it has no responses.

Fortunately, X1Plus just works, so there is not much need to talk about it.

I would definitely buy multiple for my print farm as i much prefer a wired connection.

There is definitely a market for this.

Shut up and take my money :money_mouth_face:. When will it delivered.

This is fun stuff…but I am finding it difficult to find the value. Most of this can already be accomplished through the Home Assistant plugin. Wired network connection is typically not preferred given that these devices are low bandwidth.

Care to provide us with a ballpark price estimate and a rough delivery period ? I’d definitely be interested in purchasing one for my X1C, if the price changed and the delivery time is right.

AS long as its not priced too high, would buy one for sure!

Only the Ethernet port would justify the buy. All the other features are surely useful.
Consider me in.
