P1 series have not enough processing power to run X1+ features I guess…
OTHERWISE they would have a WIDER vast niche and I would order a dozen or more lol

Ill buy just for the ethernet
I second that for the P1S
All I can say is: TAKE MY MONEY!
Can’t find the buy button!
looks great, you had me at Ethernet cable
Be prepared to be told by Bambu tech support to remove this mod whenever completing troubleshooting steps. “What’s that mod? Oh, clearly the cause of your issue. Remove it.”
That won’t be an issue as you already wave tech support when you agree to loading X1Plus firmware which is required to use this expansion board.
On that note, is there a back-out plan for the firmware? Getting support from Bambu is something most folks are going to want.
It’s detailed in the blog post.
If you want support, it’s best to stick with the stock firmware.
Nice. Been a few months since that was posted. Everyone’s been keeping the peace?
I think that’s a nice balance between allowing rooting of the systems (a risk), and not forcing Bambu to accept any liability for that risk.
The more these systems are hacked (hardware, software and firmware), the more data points we’ll have for resolving issues as a community when they pop up.
Thanks for the link!
There is also the blog post for when X1Plus launched.
X1Plus users can return to the current version of Bambu firmware at any time. Just use the X1Plus start menu to boot into the internal, unmodified, v1.06 firmware (aka version “R”).
Returning to the current Bambu release will NOT restore the warranty. I have not heard what actually happens if/when anyone seeks non-warranty support from Bambu after using X1Plus (they are probably still waiting for a response).
It is also unclear to me exactly what happens if you return to standard Bambu firmware and then want to run X1Plus again. Is the 1.06 R version still a downgrade options or do you have to go through the whole process again to request it?
But I really cannot imagine going back. The developers have kept up with Bambu’s changes in the base firmware from 1.07.02 up to the current 1.08.00, and everything has worked perfectly so far. So, I’ve kept up with all the improvements Bambu has made Plus I have the enhancements of the X1Plus interface. Anything that changes in the future will just be additional gain.
I would be interested in incorporating a chamber heater that can be controlled via firmware in the X1 carbon, or have a means to hook up an aftermarket heater to control via firmware. I would spend money for that.
I’m confused by the enthusiasm for wired v wireless ethernet connectivity. What am I missing?
Also, would the features offered by this board be brought through to the Bambu Studio level? or are all the humidity-sensing/LED-light controls/ whatever else the GPIO can do, be relegated to some kind of lower-levels/3rd-party controls/monitoring UI?
Generally, I don’t understand the purpose of this board. Please educate me.
Would by one just for the Ethernet connection…. If it would work on a ps1
I’m just sending my X1C back because it wasn’t until I opened the box and got the thing out, I realised it had no Ethernet port.
The problem for me, and anyone who is security conscious, it that I suspect your board will still need me to download the proprietary and secret/undocumented network plug-in. Which is why I also cannot buy the X1E.
If you can find a way to avoid the network plug-in, then I am in and will gladly assist in getting this to market.
X1Plus is not for the P series of printers. Completely different chipsets.
ethernet oh yes count me in thanks
please let me know when you can buy the board is really not bad just because of the LAN / cable connection
a price 100 to 150-180 € would be ok so far
