X1Plus Firmware Website

I’ve been using X1Plus for about three months and have experienced none of those issues. Everything has worked for me without fault.

I can’t speak to Makerworld integration, I don’t use it.

The bed visualizer works great and makes precise levelling much easier than using a feeler gauge or estimating when the nozzle is “just touching”. I’ve always received a report, and the reports are also saved for future reference on the SD card. It is interesting to compare the results at different bed temperatures.

With the stock firmware, trying to use the motion controls without first homing the head generates a warning with every button press. Stock choices are Home or Close. If you are persistent and keep closing the warning, you can ram into the stops.

X1Plus works exactly the same, but it also offers a third choice, Ignore. Ignore turns off the warning, allowing you to tap the motion controls repeatedly without warnings. That can save some time, but it is up to you to respect the limits and not do something dumb.

Or, you can home the head. If you home the head, you will not be able to exceed the travel limits.

X1Plus has also added an indicator to show the “homed” status.

The red-outlined home icon turns a solid green after homing. The X1Plus developers are restricted in what they can do because motor control is still part of the closed source Bambu firmware.

I don’t see X1Plus as a complete firmware, it is more of an enhanced interface for the base Bambu firmware. So, I agree, it is not necessary. It is just nice to have.
