I was sorta/kinda/maybe thinking about installing X1Plus, but just wasn’t sure that there were benefits that I’d actually use. I was on the fence, but this new “security” stuff just might push me over.
X1Plus is only an overlay on the Bambu firmware which is downloaded direct from the Bambu servers. X1Plus by itself cannot control motors, heating, etc. - all the functions that will be affected by the new “security” features.
If you want X1Plus, get it now while you might still be able to download the Bambu base version 1.08.00.00 firmware. Then never, ever “upgrade”.
