Unfortunately, its a little too late in the product launch cycle to give any useful feedback to Bambu, but I’m still curious if my preference is in the majority or minority of the community.

The X1 Series looks good, but I actually prefer the P1 Series’ color scheme significantly more, specifically the P1S (or X1E).

Do others feel the same way or it is inconsequential for most people?

It’s not furniture, that I need to coordinate it with the color scheme of my workshop. The exterior color isn’t important. As long as it has a glass door so I can see inside, that’s all that matters to me.

It’s a tool. No one sees it but me. I don’t go to my shop to appreciate beauty or style.

Color is totally irrelevant.

Can’t say I agree that it is totally irrelevant, but I can understand its not a point that you are going to worry about. I can appreciate that.

I am a little surprised to hear so many say that its just a tool. However, in all honesty, the bar for a good looking machine isn’t too high, as I would guess most of us were fully satisfied with the Ender 3’s aesthetics when they come out. But then again, with all the customization and individualization the community does, it is again surprising to see that thought be so popular. However, more interestingly, there is a clear trend showing up regarding the lighter scheme.

More than 50% (so far) think colour is worthy of a question.

I would vote for a glow-in-the-dark colour. How cool would that look, plus, it would scare any burglars.

Meh, no gray, no me. Enough black ■■■■ magnetizing dust to it is standing already around…

What I’m finding interesting is, how few people want the lighter color. I did expect the incumbent option to be a little more popular. After all, its still a good looking machine, as is.

On the other side, definitely more people than I anticipated don’t care, but if I’m honest, I ALWAYS expected the darker option to be the more popular, just wasn’t sure by how much. Let’s see where it goes, maybe the light option will make a come back.

Darker colours tend to be considered more premium, look at the Apple line-up.

Pure white is also luxury, but, who wants to clean that up, our world isn’t dirty, but, not clean either.

Eh… you were saying…

It’s like with the likes and dislikes; whether you agree with or not, these do exist and many fall for their trap, when actually …

why I’m saying this… well, put simply, because of things like this

or like this…

which may very well lead to things like this

Gotta love this one!

I don’t give a ■■■■ about the color. I give lots of craps about having clear not smoked glass.

I have spoken, it’s the only reason I chose the P1S over the X1C.

Well, actually it was price, but still…

Well, I suppose that you won’t mind having a pink printer, or with a combo of colors that would definitely flip someone’s stomach upside down in a matter of seconds…and in the end, if this is what you want, this is what you get for the money.
Personally I do give a damn on how the end product looks like to me (and others), considering that once purchased I’ll be having to look at it daily, or on a regular basis anyway, and that for a very long period of time… so, yeah, it does make sense to have a choice in either the shape and color, or in the choice of the color and shape… either one would do.

Which is the attitude that gave us the cool smoked glass resulting in 300 designs for additional LED lighting so you can see what the hell is going on inside the printer.

If I had the choice between a standard X1 and one in pink with yellow spots and clear glass I would take the latter and my stomach would be fine.

Mr Blobby you say!

My previous answer stands:

and for avoidance of any doubt, I’m interested in how well it performs, on how reliable it is, how maintenance free it can be, how long it lasts, if it produces repeatedly qualitative prints, and whether it will hold its value over time… as for the looks, that can be easily fixed, if one doesn’t like how it looks.
