X2D disable Track Switch!

I have just upgraded to the X2D including Track switch, TPU assist module and AMS HT from my X1C and so far very disappointed like apparently many others. For one I wanted to print TPU as I did previously, and purchased a TPU assist module which I feel was a waste of money as I am not using it because you cannot unload the nozzle without disconnecting a tube between the Assist module and the splitter allowing the direct drive to retract it. Surely when it was designed it was obvious it needed to regulate the withdrawal to sync with the DD left nozzle retract. Now I am just going directly into the left nozzle via a 1-4 splitter as I did with my X1C.Then what I consider the most ridiculous situation is that when I put my TPU into the AMS HT and feed it through the TPU outlet I cannot do anything without disconnecting the Track Switch. I am not the only one by a long shot complaining about this. Can the developers please allow us to disable the track switch via the Control panel ??? At least that would alleviate some of the disgruntled X2D users…

I think Bambu Lab already promised that allowing an external spool holder with the FTS installed will come with a future update. I guess we have to be patient.

I guess you have already seen the 4in2 manual switch from the same author? I decided for that instead of the FTS and I’m very happy so far. Maybe use that for now and combine it later with the FTS when software is nore mature?

Thanks for that. I have just ordered the 4-in-1 Bambu Adapter so I can repurpose the quick release tube adapters for the 3D printed dual splitter as it look a much better, stronger and more stable idea. Let’s hope Bambu update the firmware soon to disable the FTS allowing us it use an external spool without faffing about at the back. I will print the new TPU assist box as well in you link as it is far less friction.

I agree with this post and would like to see a simple UI button to bypass that warning. I had the same issue on my H2C. Was running TPU from AMS HT to the dedicated TPU slot (I dont have the assist module yet), which I had manually connected to the Right nozzle inside the printer and I got this warning that I couldnt print with the FTS, even though I wasnt using the FTS. I told the printer I was using right side external spool. Because it 1) wouldnt let me “load” TPU into the HT, even though I was using the TPU bypass hole, I couldnt tell the software that TPU was in the HT. 2) If I told it I was using the left external spool it said “you cant use TPU on the left nozzle”…even though I was directing it to the right nozzle. and then 3) cant use with FTS.

So I had to unplug all power to the FTS just to print TPU. Thats a pain.
Just throw up the warning and let me say “okay” or some sort of temporary software disconnect of the FTS until Im done with my TPU print. But honestly a full disconnect would not be desired, because what if I wanted to print with PLA on the left nozzle (using the track switch) and TPU on the right nozzle using the dedicated TPU slot….I wouldnt be able to unless I manually fed PLA into the left nozzle by undoing all the PTFE on the FTS too.

So…Im hoping Alex_vG is right and it will be a firmware update soon.
I dont print in TPU because its such a PITA right now.

I feel for you folks that have the FTS and the TPU Assist…you got all the right stuff and it still wont let you do what you’d think it logically should let you do.

Is the FTS beta firmware out of Beta? I thought it was out of beta by now…but could be wrong.

Anyhow….you’re not the only one…I agree with you and want the same thing

+1 vote for this. A simple option to “Bypass FTS for (Left|Right) nozzle”
This would allow FTS to still feed to the opposite nozzle, but would indicate that we are using the external spool directly to the nozzle input
