X2D PLA Print flow rate isn't isn't fine - or some other issue?

Started to have artifacts at about 22 mm³/sec, dialed back to 20 and I’m still having problems. The squiggly lines have been mitigated by a generous lubing of the X and Y axis rods but the printer is clearly extruding plastic not the right way.

^^this is what another user on Sunlu pla+ 2.0 gets on generic basic pla preset

VV this is what I get

That white chip looks massively overextruded, reduce Flow Rate by 4-10%. Just because it isnt in the range of 0.95 → 1.05 doesnt mean it isnt correct, go with the evidence in front of your eyes

I did do that, and the evidence and support game me reason, calibrated from scratch, I got this chip with a nice flat layer

Then the very next print I do comes out like this

While the other block from the same type of spool came out massively underextruded

Now, I already hear you go “that’s normal different colors act differently and may need a different calibration” These 2 spools on the A1 mini used the exact same custom profile, and while it’s definetly possible that a different machine requires a different temp or extrusion flow what it can’t do is CHANGE THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF THE SPOOLS REQUIRING ONE TO BE TUNED TO INCREASE THE FLOW AND ONE TO DECREASE IT. Either they are both changed towards the same end of the curve or something else is wrong. Talked with support, made some questions and what do you know? Turns out the X2D has a sensor that actively modifies and overwrites your flow% to consider humidity or nozzle wear. Just for the fact that 0.96 produced the smooth chip and 0.96 gave me the overextruded block it means that something else changed the flow, and there’s only the aforementioned thing that does it.

They agreed to a complete substitution of the machine, I’ll keep you guys updated
