Y rail ,steel rod loose

I had a clicking noise my x1 and think I have found the culprit when doing a service cleaning all the rods I noticed the right hand Y axis steel rod has slight movement back and forward which makes the same noise …I have only just found it so looking on how to tighten it up ? There is loads of stuff on the belts and pulleys (which i have done trying to find this noise ) but none on the actual rail having movement in !!!

Is there a way to tighten rod so it has no movement?
The left hand side one is solid so guessing the right one shoul be the same !!

Here is the wiki article for replacing the xy axis. This should give you enough information to investigate further on what is loose.

Hi thanks for link but his is to remove the whole top in one go so could not see what i needed …many thanks

Hello,

Did you manage to find a solution ? I have exactley the same problem (right hand side) which has slight movement forward and back

Ignore my last message, I worked it out.

For anyone else who notices this issue, there is a screw underneath the right hand side y axis rail (closest to the door). It was nearly falling out and needed tightening! Fixed it straight away
