Has anyone used it with the a P series printer? How has it worked for you? Did you see any noteable improvements?
I tried printing TPU regularly, and dont have the space above my printer to direct-feed it with a top mounted spool. So the results, unless constantly managed, are catastrophic.
Here is an example of usage without vs with manually ensuring that there is slack in the feeding path. (Ignore the typo on the right one)
Yes, both are the same 85A filament.
I simply miss-named it because I closed the project without saving once I started the print.
That is the exact problem I was trying to show in the image, in the past I printed a simple cylinder, and 90% of the layers (first 10% of layers were given slack) are mostly destroyed by underextrusion.
It seems so to me. Obviously I canāt verify that it works with the Bambu feeder and I probably wonāt update my P1S as Iām happy with my current Feeder. But I can confirm that the P1S will print TPU 85A well with a proper feeder.
I will update my X1C, but not until Fall, so youāll likely try it before I get a chance.
And I have to say, the results are great.
It took some testing to figure out how to use it, especially with the power increase / decrease function.
But once I figured that out I was able to print flawlessly with 85A TPU.
The Images below are all my prints of the swatch so far, from first to last (left to right), with the last one being the only one I printed with the assisst module.
I figured out during this print that stretching caused by the toolhead gear is the cause of this, so I learned I needed to give it slack. Some layers are almost totally destroyed.
Second Attempt, given pre-emptive slack, with occasional checkups to give more.
I forgot towards the end so undextrusion (due to stretching) was happening again on the top most layers.
First time using the TPU Assisst module, once I set the power / speed during the first few lines of first layer, it printed consistently and without issues for the entire print.
Im really glad I got this module, because now my ideas invovling bigger TPU prints arent just painful hurdles anymore, but functionally the same as any other print. So ill be able to integrate TPU into my designs a lot more liberally from now on.
I personally recommend getting it, if like me, you cant (or dont want to) mount your TPU for direct feeding above your P1S or whatever other printer you might have!
Yeah. Bambu Labs has to be the most infuriating company Iāve ever dealt with. Itās like they would much rather string you along than provide a satisfying service. They go out of their way to make it hard to buy from them. Why they canāt simply take a ābackorderā like any other online company is simply stunning.
For those of you who saw the original Back in stock June 18th and then almost immediately saw the Back in stock June 28th message, you would be wise to set yourself an alert of your own in your calendar or other appropriate app and not rely on getting the message from Bambu Labs. Be proactive.
I signed up ahead of the June 18th notice but coincidentally remembered the notice on June 18th and the module was available. I IMMEDIATELY ordered it right then and the store accepted my order.
I went back to check status on like the 20th and the module was back in back order in the store. The module sold out in about 1 day. That tells me two things. Lots of people are struggling with TPU and as such there is a very high demand for the module.
In my case, the module did go out the door but disappeared AFTER USPS had it. Filed a support ticket bith BL and the module appears to be back on the move.
