Z Axis Issues after replacing the PTFE Tube

Hi… I tried search for an answer, but maybe I haven’t worded it correctly, so here goes:
This weekend, I needed to replace the PTFE Tube in my P1S. I just finished a print, waited for the printer to cool down, then replaced it.
After I turned the printer back on, and went to run a calibration, I got a Z-Axis homing error. The more detail was “Check the build plate it isn’t placed correctly.”

Here’s the thing… I never took the build plate out. All I’ve done is replace the PTFE tube in the machine. nothing else was touched.

  • I’ve checked the lead screws, they are clean. No obstructions.
  • The build plate is on correctly, I’ve never removed it.
  • All I have noticed is one of the bearings is unseated, so I’m fixing that when I get home from work.

Is there a sensor that could cause the error when the bowden tube is replaced?

yes, at this point I’m grasping at straws, but any troubleshooting advice anyone has would be appreciated.

Thank you

An unseated bearing could cause a homing problem but is the plate moving at all?

Can you move the z axis up and down fully using the display?

Check the underside of the printer. The z axis is moved up and down via a belt and toothed gears. A filament poop could be caught in one of the gears jamming it as the bottom of the printer is open.

Hi, yes the bed can be moved by the display and the app. When I get home from work I’ll reseat the bearing. While I have it upside down to do that I’ll check the gears. Thanks for the suggestion

PROBLEM SOLVED! I reseated the Z-Axis bearing and the issue seems to be fixed.
