With the “new edition” you would have more future firmware updates and EOL.
I just now swapped the complete hot-end assembly for the first time (to put in a hardened tip for glowing halloween projects). It was easy, but it took several tries until I had all three connectors properly seated. It’s really hard to tell when they are juuuuuuuust a little bit not quite there. They can feel fine but the machine starts up, self tests, and complains. Unplug, reseat, repeat.
Five iterations later I am back to printing. Whew.
So if this particular pain is addressed in the refresh that would be grand.
What I’m really waiting for is an update of the X1C. I hope for the same envelope but with vortek changer. The H-series is too big for me physically and I don’t need or want laser or plotting. But those swappable nozzles still fully compatible with AMS would be awesome.
I hear so much about the noise of the P1S and I just don’t get it, I must have the quietest P1S on the planet because when I walk in the room it’s in I have to walk over and look in when I know it’s supposed to be printing because it’s so quiet I can’t hear it and I think it my have stopped for some reason. I asked my wife if she hears it and she said every once in a while she can hear it if she walks right past it. The only time I really hear it is when it’s going through its startup right before starting a print and it does the vibration test.
The A series made huge leaps in the ease of swapping the nozzles.
I have four P1S printers and hate that I have to purchase the complete hot end as the other version is not possible for many disabled people, like me.
It is and was unnecessarily complicated.
I owned the A1 (not since the recall) and the A1 mini (love that thing), swapping is a fast and easy process.
They had to use the improvements learned from the A series for the H series.
Let’s hope they followed that through to the P2 & H2 (assuming there will be one) series
Sure hope so. I just ordered the P1S
Anyway it is for sure a descent upgrade from the A1 mini in so many ways.
I will have mine sitting next to my computer so most of the time I won’t need the screen. However, even a small upgrade possibility to retrofit the P1S with a touch screen, even if it was the same as ont he A1 series, would be a great addes value.
Maybe the tool head gets an upgrade, and maybe better lighting and camera. Last two are easy upgrades to do yourself. The tool head only really needs upgrades when you print material that needs higher temperatures. But most of them can be done with exchanging feeder and nozzles
I just purchased the X1C with AMS2 yesterday, as it was only $200 more than the P1S with AMS2. I would have upgraded the P1S with the hardened steel hotend and the hardened steel material feed, and potentially the screen. Those upgrades would have been about $200 so it seemed like a good deal with the addition of the lidar. Is the potential change of hotend to the H1S style worth cancelling the order to get the refreshed P1 (assuming that it also gets the screen upgrade, as that seems a given) even with a potential loss of lidar?
Just using an old phone or tablet with the software just for your printer could be an easy fix
I tried it before, it wasnt working for me. I dont have one i can spare
I don*t expect a progress bar, as well no heated chamber.
I guess BBL need to have some features for the X2 which then could be a small
H2S without laser/cutter option.
How long after announcement does Bambu usually ship?
Will these be available to buy the 14th?
I wish they focused the development effort on improving print quality/speed. I don’t need fancy touch screens and gimmicks on a budget/workhorse machine. What I want is reliability and quality.
For me old screen was just fine. Did the job.
Progress bar or lights? Why would I need that? Unwound much rather this money went in to better stepper motors/pulleys/belts.
IMHO there is an upgrade teased.
The image on the news page shows p1s screen and it is written “model: P1S”
But under it “printer ……” and those are numbers is a morse Code that says P2S. Ams is also Norse code ams2, so not sure on this yet.
With that said - p1 screen with printer p2s.
Maybe a tool head and screen replacement as an upgrade kit? Sounds promising.
Finally, linear rails all the way baby! Carbon rods are built for fly rods, not 3d printers.
Bruh I feel called out I have the touch and the Revo! But I love them to death
If you want budget, get an A1
Fun fact, if you convert the numbers from Printer and Ams from binary to ASCII it produces the letters “C” and “P”. I wonder if that is a fluke or not.
Do we think the P1S will retire on the release date as I was planning of buying one?
Well, I was expecting an update, but on X1C to X2C first, before P2S. Everything that are on the H series, except the bed size and the laser stuff, should be on the X series, and most of them can also be on the P1S.
Does this mean X2C is coming next, or X2C has to wait a bit longer because of the extra time needed to implement Vortek on it? That will be fine, too.
No, the EOL is in 2028, so they will probably sell them until then, or sell it out at a reduced price.
