A1 and Bambu Studio Issues: Z-hop retractions and Axis Limits

I’ve only had my A1 for a week or two, and I’m already experiencing the printer scratching my prints and sometimes the filament does not stick to the build plate. How can I fix this?

By cleaning the plate with water and soap and not touching the printing surface with your fingers.

Was having this issue for a week now, with multiple failed prints on the same model; but all of these changes 100% fixed the issue. I’ve read dozens of forums and reddit posts the last few days and this was the only thing that gave me results. Much appreciated!

i also wound up here with the same issue. i purchased both an a1 and an a1m in december both are dragging on the infil during travel on every print. i have been trying to figure this issue out for 2 months now. i am testing the suggested settings on my a1 as i type this.

i have printed multiple models with these new settings and i can confirm that the dragging on infill issue is gone. even with grid infill and .6 z hop it works perfectly fine. i do believe the main culprit was reduce retractions on infill that was causing it to skip z hops.

:point_right: In the settings, there is an option called
“Reduce Retraction in Infill” — and in my case, it was enabled.

When this setting is on, the printer doesn’t perform retraction during infill moves.
As a result, the nozzle drags over the filament that’s already been laid down, which can cause rubbing, surface defects, or even filament grinding.

:white_check_mark: After disabling this option, the problem was completely resolved.
The nozzle now moves smoothly over the infill without dragging, and overall print quality significantly improved.

:warning: Make sure Z-hop is enabled, especially if you’re using fuzzy skin or have delicate outer walls — this helps avoid any potential nozzle collisions.

Thanks for bringing this up
